This term, we celebrated one of our school's favourite days, Sports Day! It was held at the Mile End Stadium, where children were able to participate in numerous activities within a real sports stadium.
We had competitions like child safe javelin throws,100m/50m races, long jump and even standing jump. Our children showcased tremendous athleticism and fighting spirit.
Among all the events, one highlight was the fun race among the parents and teachers themselves. An added level of excitement and an additional factor that also united our school community.
Although it wasn't all competition, the event was an opportunity for the children to get active and out of their classrooms.
It fostered teamwork and perseverance tied to physical wellbeing, allowing everyone to have fun and challenge themselves.
The day was full of energy and excitement as pupils cheered, encouraging each other and celebrating their achievements.
Sports day at SWB is an important opportunity to practice one of our school values, Community.
It brought together children, staff, and parents in a shared activity that gave their relationship greater depth and meaning.
Teamwork was built through encouraging, helping each other and celebrating successes as a team.
Sports day also ties well with Motivation since pupils were challenged out of their comfort zone and set personal bests as individuals and team members alike. It was an authentic celebration of sports, growth, and community spirit.
